Job Description

St. Mary's Medical Center is looking for a Full Time Pharmacy Pyxis Tech. The Pyxis technician, under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, assists in the management of the automated dispensing cabinets. The major job responsibilities of this position are: distribution and documentation of controlled substances, control and verification of certain stock medications and charging accountability.
EDUCATION
High school diploma or equivalent. Passing National Certification of Pharmacy Technicians within one year of employment
EXPERIENCE
A minimum of one (1) year experience in Pharmacy service to be eligible for the technician training program. Satisfactory completion of the technician training program.
SKILLS:
Typing proficiency; basic computer skills; good math skills; above normal motivation; demonstrated ability to assume responsibility; good moral character and integrity; ability to communicate with and present a pleasing personality to the public and the institutional staff; ability to acquire the appropriate knowledge and skills required. Proficient with Excel (preferred).
