Job Description
Are you looking to change into a closed-door pharmacy setting and gain a new skill set? Join our team. We are looking for a full-time Pharmacy Technician to join our collaborative home-healthcare team in downtown Rock Springs. The ideal candidate is detail oriented, works well in a team, has the ability to multitask, thrives in a fast paced environment, exhibits a pleasant personality, and provides stellar customer service.
Responsibilities will include:
Prepare sterile intravenous medications, total parenteral products, and chemotherapeutic agents using aseptic technique within compliance with USP regulations. Prioritizes, enters, fills, labels, and prepares home infusion products for delivery. Understands and appropriately follows all product worksheets/recipes for documentation and check processes. Adheres to and is knowledgeable regarding allUSP 797 & 800
requirements. Accurately measure components for compounding. Complete accurate documentation of medications compounded per policy. Calculates and collates supplies for the patient's home infusion under the supervision of the pharmacist. Assists in maintenance of daily patient schedules, planning, and refills. Works collaboratively with the home care agency and the patient to ensure safe delivery of product to the patient's home. Performs cleaning of sterile compounding areas per USP 797 regulations. Assists in billing documentation as directed. Rotating and working in various assigned pharmacy workstations including compounding, packaging, staging, and receiving. Receiving product deliveries, rotate and restocks medications and supplies. Coordinate with delivery drivers to ensure shipments are accurate and deliveries are timely. Answer phones. Follows direction regarding workflow to ensure safe, timely, and cost-effective administration of medications. Assists and supports the care coordination/intake team with cross-coverage opportunities. Keeps pharmacy areas clean, neat, and well organized. Maintains a professional appearance and attitude, following applicable dress code. Consistently contributes to the team effort (e.g., assist co-workers when need is observed or upon request, offer constructive suggestions, exhibit willingness to resolve problems as they arise). Completes documentation of refrigerator temperatures and equipment maintenance activities as required. Cross train in multiple pharmacy specialties as directed by pharmacy leadership. Other duties as assigned.Required Qualifications:
Maintain required state and national pharmacy technician license. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting. Understand and adhere to HIPAA regulations and ability to follow standards in personnel, patient, and staff related discussions. Ability to seek appropriate guidance when situation dictates advanced knowledge or judgement. Ability to complete moderate to difficult mathematical calculations using a hand-held calculator. Exhibits excellent interpersonal skills and is customer service oriented in all contacts with patients, visitors, and staff. Strong organizational skills with attention to details. Prioritization capabilities, superior problem-solving skills, and ability to multi-task. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism. Proficient in computer skills and database management relevant to the work.Benefits:
