Phlebotomist/Specimen Collector

Core Diagnostic Laboratories is looking to hire an experienced and motivated Phlebotomist/Specimen Processor to be a part of our growing laboratory team located in Birmingham, AL. This position is in Hoover, Al.

MUST HAVE PHLEBOTOMY EXPERIENCE.

The ideal candidate will have experience drawing blood, ordering and processing blood, urine, and must be comfortable handling biohazardous materials with provided PPE. This position will be responsible for the collection of all specimens and preparation for shipping to Laboratory. Must have reliable transportation.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately order all tests listed on the patient requisition form
• Appropriately process samples according to the testing criteria
• Prepare samples for shipment to laboratory
• Follow HIPPA regulations and Universal Precautions
• Evaluate sample integrity (clots, hemolysis, etc.)
• Communicate issues to management in a timely manner

• Phlebotomy
• Attention to detail
• Sample processing experience
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Efficient in computer operations
• Previous lab experience is preferred

Pay:

$14.00 - $16.00 per hour
