Job Description

Synergy Laboratories is a state of the art full-service, medical diagnostic laboratory specializing in Clinical, Toxicology, Infectious Disease, Women's Health, Molecular and Genetic testing located in Mobile, AL. We have an opening available in
  • Mobile, AL for a pediatric phlebotomist.
Our candidate of choice MUST have at least 2 years medical experience with pediatric phlebotomy and specimen collecting. Computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel, will be necessary. Must be able to work in a fast paced environment and be detail oriented.
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Collect, label, appropriately prepare and store lab samples according to laboratory specifications.
  • Prepare lab requisitions in computer by acquiring all information required.
  • Ensure collection lab specimens by appropriate lab courier.
  • Take initiative and action to respond, resolve and follow up regarding patients in a timely manner.
  • Comply with Synergy policies, protocols and procedures (Employee Handbook, QA manual, Compliance)
Requirements:
  • Excellent phlebotomy skills
  • Good time management skills and ability to work with minimal on site supervision.
  • Ability to work in fast paced environment
  • Commitment to provide quality work with no errors
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service and patient care.
  • Work well with others and ability to problem solve.
  • Have experience processing clinical samples.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Day to day work includes desk and personal computer entry and interaction with patients, facility staff and physicians. Candidate must be able to sit, stand, bend, walk, kneel and carry up 25lbs. Candidate must be able to pass a background check and random drug screens.
