CNA / Phlebotomy Baptist Medical Center South - 3.8 Montgomery, AL Job Details Part-time $21.49 - $25.89 an hour 6 days ago Qualifications Anatomy knowledge Aseptic technique Medical terminology Full Job Description Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate CNA / Phlebotomy Technician to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide exceptional patient care by performing clinical tasks such as vital signs, catheter care, and assisting with daily activities, while also drawing blood samples through phlebotomy procedures. Your expertise will support a wide range of care settings, including acute care, long-term care, outpatient clinics, and community health environments. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in patients' lives through attentive caregiving and precise medical procedures. Duties Perform patient assessments including vital signs, anatomy and physiology monitoring, and documentation within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks. Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including hygiene, mobility support using Hoyer lifts, catheter care, and medication administration under supervision. Collect blood samples via phlebotomy with strict adherence to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols. Support patients across diverse settings such as hospitals (including ICU, trauma centers, PICU), nursing homes, assisted living facilities, hospice, and home care environments. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations and medical terminology standards. Monitor patient responses during procedures and report any critical changes to the healthcare team promptly. Utilize EMR/EHR systems efficiently to ensure seamless communication of patient information and medical records management. Experience Previous experience working in medical-surgical units, emergency medicine, ICU, or trauma centers is highly preferred. Demonstrated proficiency in phlebotomy techniques and blood collection procedures. Experience providing senior care or working with individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia (including Alzheimer's and memory care). Familiarity with various healthcare environments such as outpatient clinics, urgent care centers, behavioral health settings, or post-acute care facilities. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and aseptic techniques essential for safe patient interactions. Prior experience with EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner is advantageous. Certification in basic life support (BLS) or CPR is required; additional certifications such as Level II trauma center experience or hospice care are a plus.
