Job Description
Work Hours:
Monday through Friday. Shift begins at 5:00 a.m.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES
Collect blood samples from patients via venipuncture or finger sticks; follow laboratory policy, and use best practices while complying with federal and state regulations Practice proper patient identification Label vials with patient names and dates, follow the specimen labeling policy Determine the best method for drawing blood depending on the specific patient Transport specimens timely to drop off locations in approved manner in keeping with policy Prepare samples for transport, centrifuge, aliquot, store in temperature-controlled environments Ability to work with a diverse and large number of residents Friendly, kind, courteous, and sympathetic when working with residents and staff Maintenance, organization, and stocking of phlebotomy tray or station Always conform to infection control standards when working with residents and equipment Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations Comply with all applicable laboratory policies and procedures Comply with HIPAA and other applicable laws and regulations Report errors, incidents, or safety concerns to supervisor or Laboratory Director Keep accurate mileage log records Other duties as assignedESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Blood and body fluid exposure, contagious disease, infectious waste, able to handle high volume work while performing stat testing on potentially critical residents. Appropriate PPE is provided and required in performance of job duties. This role may involve exposure to adverse weather conditions during mobile travel.EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Possess a valid driver's license. Have no major traffic violations and maintain a clean driving record. Provide proof of personal automotive insurance Phlebotomy experience working with geriatric population preferred Knowledge of medical terminology, preferred Customer service experience, preferred Background check requiredJOB REQUIREMENTS
Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment Ability to work in a team setting Previous phlebotomy experience desired Clerical skills to complete written records, keyboard literacy Ability to plan, schedule, implement and follow through on activities. This is safety sensitive position for the purposes of the Arkansas Medical Marijuana Amendment. Completion of HIPAA training and annual bloodborne pathogens training required within 30 days of hire Consent to random drug and alcohol testing as a condition of employment Reports to: Medical Director, Laboratory Director, Phlebotomy Supervisor; for complaints or concerns employees may also contact hr@accesshealthservices.comPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Lift, push, pull up to 50 pounds Must be mobile Must possess sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that job requirements are met Ability to distinguish color May be exposed to toxic, chemical caustics, fumes, airborne particles Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position. Must be able to engage with customers and function in a variety of work environments. Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, young, emotionally upset and at times hostile customers.Confidentiality and Compliance:
Employees must maintain strict confidentiality of all patient information in accordance with HIPAA and company policies. Violation may result in disciplinary action up to termination. All employees must comply with federal, state, and local regulations, including OSHA safety standards and CLIA quality requirements for laboratory testing.Training and Development:
New hires will receive orientation on company policies, safety protocols, and role-specific skills. Ongoing training will be provided annually or as required by law.
