The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing blood draws, collecting specimens, assisting with patient care, obtaining vital signs, and supporting providers with clinical and administrative tasks. This role is important in helping provide quality patient care in a professional, compassionate, and efficient manner. The right candidate should be dependable, organized, comfortable working with patients, and able to communicate clearly in both English and Spanish. Responsibilities Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection using proper aseptic technique. Collect, label, and prepare blood, urine, and other specimens for laboratory testing. Ensure all specimens are handled, stored, and transported according to established procedures. Obtain and document patient vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, oxygen level, height, and weight. Room patients and prepare them for provider evaluation. Review and update patient medical history, medications, allergies, and reason for visit. Assist providers with exams, procedures, and treatments as needed. Communicate with patients in both English and Spanish when needed. Provide clear instructions to patients regarding lab work, procedures, and follow-up care. Maintain accurate documentation in the patient chart or electronic medical record. Follow infection control standards, HIPAA guidelines, and safety protocols. Clean and prepare exam rooms between patients. Sterilize and maintain medical equipment as needed. Keep phlebotomy supplies, exam room supplies, and clinical areas stocked and organized. Assist with front office or administrative tasks when needed, including scheduling, answering phones, and patient check-in/check-out. Experience Previous experience as a Phlebotomist, Medical Assistant, or clinical healthcare assistant is preferred. Experience with venipuncture, blood draws, and specimen collection is strongly preferred. Bilingual in English and Spanish is required. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, infection control, and basic patient care is helpful. Experience working in a clinic, hospital, laboratory, or healthcare setting is a plus. Familiarity with electronic medical records is preferred. Qualifications Must be able to communicate effectively in English and Spanish. Phlebotomy training or certification preferred. Medical Assistant certification preferred, but not required depending on experience. Strong communication and patient service skills. Excellent attention to detail. Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment. Compassionate and professional approach with patients. Reliable, punctual, and able to work well with a healthcare team. Summary This position requires a team member who is comfortable with both phlebotomy and medical assistant duties. Candidates should be committed to providing quality patient care, maintaining accurate records, following safety standards, and creating a positive experience for every patient. Fluency in English and Spanish is required to better assist our patient population.
