Responsible for the performance of multiple duties relating to specimen collection and handling. Provide coverage as Medical Assistant and assist with Medical Records. Primary Essential Duties 1. Must have the ability, skill set, qualifications, education and licensure that are required for all the responsibilities this position must cover. 2. Will perform direct patient care in the form of blood drawings and urine specimen collections of patients in the outpatient setting at CMWC. 3. Must excel in prioritization, organization, and multi-tasking while demonstrating attention to details and follow through. 4. Utilize critical thinking skills to identify issues, problem solve to logical conclusion, demonstrate initiative and be responsible. 5. Obtain venipunctures and capillary specimens on all patients (geriatric, pediatric, obese, etc.) based on the providers written orders and laboratory guide lines. 6. Keep accurate, concise, and thorough documentation of all medical history, exam findings. 7. Provide proper follow-up/follow-through on all tests, promptly notify physician of critical and stat values. Promptly contact any patient (s) for needed re-draws. 8. Provide coverage as a Medical Assistant when needed. 9. Perform spot disinfection of draw chair and processing area as needed. 10. Assist with Medical Records. 11. Perform any additional or miscellaneous duties as requested by the management team within the scope of knowledge and ability. Skills and Qualifications 1. Phlebotomy certification from an accredited agency (licensing in California). 2. Completion of an approved phlebotomy training course. 3. Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS) 4. 1-2 years of phlebotomist experience in a non-profit setting is preferred. 5.
Proficiency in the following:
blood collection by venipuncture and capillary techniques from patients of all age groups, urine drug screen collections, pediatric blood collections and difficult draws. 6. Proficiency with an Electronic Health Record (EHR). 7. Treat all patients and colleagues with dignity and respect. 8. Ability to work with diverse populations. Education, Professional Training & Experience 1. Phlebotomy certification from an accredited agency (licensing in California) 2. Completion of an approved phlebotomy training course. 3. Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS) 4. 2-3 years of phlebotomist experience in a non-profit setting is preferred 5.
Proficiency in the following:
blood collection by venipuncture and capillary technique from patients of all age groups, urine drug screen collections, pediatric blood collections and difficult draws. 6. Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR). 7. Bi-Lingual Khmer or Spanish preferred.

$22.00 per hour
