Job Description Cedars-Sinai Marina del Rey Hospital is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Phlebotomist to join our outstanding team. Key Responsibilities As a Phlebotomist at Cedars-Sinai Marina del Rey Hospital, you will handle a variety of tasks essential to our laboratory operations.
Your main responsibilities will include:
Collecting accurate and adequate blood specimens by venipuncture or capillary puncture technique, following established laboratory policies and procedures. Identifying patients' protocols, collecting and labeling all specimens accurately, and detailing collection information. Reviewing outstanding specimen reports for the laboratory, microbiology, and blood bank during your shift to identify any uncollected tests and taking appropriate action. Processing outpatients accurately, providing instructions and supplies for specimen collection. Delivering specimens to the appropriate laboratory section in a timely manner. Accurately processing all orders in accordance with turnaround time policies. Communicating, documenting, and following up on unclear or discrepant orders, and reporting any issues to the Supervisor or Director. Performing clerical tasks accurately, including the use of the laboratory computer system. Maintaining phlebotomy and meals/breaks logs accurately and timely. Knowing and applying criteria for specimen rejection.
Qualifications Experience:
One (1) year of acute care experience, required
Education:
High School diploma/General Equivalency Diploma (GED), required Bachelor's degree, preferred
License/Certification:
Current Phlebotomy licensure in the State of California, required
