Full Job Description Schedule:
Part-time (24-hours a week or more)
Salary:
$28.00-$32 Hourly
POSITION SUMMARY
: The primary purpose of your job position is to provide quality Phlebotomy care including PRN's, clinics, call backs/stats. Our phlebotomists play a critical role in helping physicians provide accurate diagnosis and medical treatment in our facility.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Select appropriate site for venipuncture (arm, hand, leg, ankle or foot), assemble equipment and collect specimen(s) using correct order of draw and according to policy and procedure. Use proper cleansing and aseptic technique to collect blood cultures. Collect capillary specimens via skin puncture of finger, big toe or heel into capillary tube or Microtainer. Always verify orders and minimum blood volumes prior to collection from patient. Collect specimen(s) requiring special techniques including research kits, syringe collection, tolerance tests and urea breath test. Perform emergency first aid as necessary. Recognize the need for patient medical assistance and call for the correct Response Team to properly assess and care for the patient. Chart all communications with the resident's attending physician regarding the resident, the resident's treatment, or the response to that treatment. Perform routine charting duties as required and in accordance with established charting and documentation policies and procedures and applicable state and federal regulations. Assist the Quality Assessment and Assurance Committee in developing and implementing appropriate plans of action to correct identified deficiencies. Performs other duties as may be assigned.
