Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join a well-established clinical team committed to delivering top-quality patient care. In this role, you'll be the face of the facility, drawing blood samples with precision and compassion. Responsibilities:
Draw high-quality blood samples from patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric populations, adhering strictly to established safety and procedural protocols. Prepare and label specimens accurately for lab testing, maintaining meticulous records to ensure specimen integrity and chain of custody. Explain procedures to patients in a reassuring, professional manner, creating an environment of trust and confidence. Ensure the health and safety of patients and staff by maintaining a clean, organized, and compliant work environment. Follow established practices for specimen collection, processing, and documentation, demonstrating attention to detail and process excellence. Assist with clerical tasks such as data entry and maintaining patient information confidentiality. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet daily targets and uphold the highest standards of quality and efficiency. Demonstrate accountability by working independently when needed and ensuring punctuality and full shift coverage.
Required Skills:
Strong proficiency in phlebotomy techniques, including pediatric and geriatric blood draws. Minimum of 6 months of proven phlebotomy experience, with at least 1+ years preferred. Certification in phlebotomy preferred, especially in states where required (California, Nevada, Washington). Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and calmly with diverse patient populations. Basic computer literacy with keyboard and data entry skills for accurate documentation. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment. Medical assisting or paramedic training. Experience working in retail, service, or healthcare settings providing patient interactions. Bilingual skills or additional language proficiency.
Preferred Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Medical or clinical training preferred; certification (e.g., Certified Phlebotomy Technician) highly valued. At least 6 months of direct phlebotomy experience, preferably exceeding one year.
Other Requirements:
Must list home city and commute time on the resume (within 20-25 minutes of the worksite). Reliable personal transportation is essential—no reliance on rideshare or bus alone. Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed. Availability to work scheduled hours consistently, with punctuality and full shift commitment. Ability to perform physical requirements, including standing for extended periods and handling clinical specimens safely.
