Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Phlebotomist/Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in clinical laboratory procedures, patient care, and specimen collection, with a commitment to delivering exceptional service in a fast-paced medical environment. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to patient health and well-being by performing vital laboratory and clinical tasks with precision and professionalism. The position is paid and requires active engagement in both laboratory techniques and direct patient interactions. Duties Collect blood samples through venipuncture and skin puncture techniques, ensuring proper specimen handling and processing. Perform routine laboratory procedures, including specimen labeling, processing, and documentation in accordance with established protocols. Measure vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates to assist clinicians in patient assessment. Assist healthcare providers with patient care activities, including preparing patients for examinations and explaining procedures clearly. Maintain a sterile environment using aseptic techniques during specimen collection and other clinical procedures. Record accurate medical terminology data and update patient records promptly within electronic health record systems. Support laboratory operations by adhering to safety standards, managing inventory of supplies, and ensuring compliance with health regulations. Demonstrate thorough knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology to enhance patient interactions and technical accuracy. Qualifications Proven experience in laboratory procedures, techniques, or clinical laboratory settings is required. Strong knowledge of phlebotomy, venipuncture, blood sampling, and specimen processing is essential. Prior hospital or healthcare facility experience is highly desirable. Familiarity with laboratory techniques, laboratory experience, and clinical laboratory practices is preferred. Athena EMR experience Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate effectively and compassionately with diverse populations. Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and aseptic technique is necessary for success in this role. Ability to work efficiently within a team environment while maintaining attention to detail under pressure.
