In this energetic position, you will be responsible for collecting blood samples and other specimens with precision and compassion, ensuring accurate laboratory testing and diagnosis. Your expertise in laboratory procedures and patient interaction will help facilitate seamless diagnostic processes while providing excellent patient service. This paid role offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in a fast-paced clinical environment dedicated to improving health outcomes. Duties Perform venipuncture and capillary blood sampling using proper aseptic techniques to ensure specimen integrity. Collect, label, process, and transport specimens accurately according to established protocols. Measure vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration when required for patient assessments. Maintain strict adherence to laboratory procedures, safety standards, and infection control practices. Communicate effectively with patients to explain procedures, provide reassurance, and ensure comfort throughout specimen collection. Document all procedures thoroughly in compliance with medical terminology standards and hospital policies. Assist with specimen processing and prepare samples for laboratory analysis while maintaining proper chain of custody. Experience Proven laboratory experience or clinical laboratory experience involving specimen collection and processing. Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and aseptic techniques necessary for safe blood sampling. Hands-on experience with venipuncture, blood sampling, and patient care in a hospital or healthcare setting preferred. Familiarity with laboratory techniques related to specimen handling and processing is highly desirable. Prior hospital experience or working within a clinical environment is advantageous but not mandatory. Strong understanding of patient service principles combined with excellent communication skills to support diverse patient populations.
