Job Description:
The Patient Services Representative III-Floater (PSR III) represents the face of the company to patients who come in, both as part of their health routine or for insights into life-defining health decisions. Draws quality blood samples from patients and prepares specimens for lab testing while following established practices and procedures. Creates an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining procedures and performing blood draws in a safe, skillful, and accurate manner. Demonstrates Leadership Behaviors while focusing on process excellence and maintaining confidentiality and accuracy of patient information. May be assigned to a doctor's office, patient service center, or other locations as business needs dictate.
Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the area supervisor, perform daily activities accurately and on time. Maintain a safe and professional environment. Perform both forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties following established procedures. Verify patient demographic information and obtain patient initials/signature post-venipuncture to confirm specimen labeling accuracy. Maintain required records and documentation. Promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the general public. Support organizational commitment and professionalism at all times.
Job Requirements:
Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision. Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections. Flexible availability based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, overtime, and on-call schedules. Ability to make decisions based on established procedures and exercise sound judgment. Must have reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and clean driving record, if applicable. Travel and flexibility required to support multiple locations with minimal notice. Capable of handling multiple priorities in a high-volume setting. Strong customer service and communication skills with peers, supervisors, and patients. Ability to adapt quickly to change and demonstrate business knowledge.
Required Skills & Experience:
1-3 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections. 2 years of experience in a Patient Service Center environment preferred. Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred. Keyboard/data entry experience required.
Required Education:
High school diploma or equivalent - REQUIRED.
Preferred Education:
Medical training such as Medical Assistant or Paramedic training is preferred. Phlebotomy certification preferred. Phlebotomy certification required in California, Nevada, and Washington. #
