Job Description :
The Mobile Collector Phlebotomist provides on-site diagnostic specimen collection services for residents of senior living, assisted living, and memory care communities. This role is responsible for collecting blood, urine, respiratory, and stool specimens while delivering compassionate, respectful care to elderly residents. The Mobile Collector Phlebotomist works collaboratively with facility staff and laboratory partners to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant specimen collection.
Key Responsibilities :
  • Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collections
  • Collection of non-blood specimens to include urine, respiratory, GI, and wound samples per provider orders
  • Provide clear instructions and assistance to residents and caregivers for proper specimen collection when needed
  • Verify resident identity and test orders prior to specimen collection
  • Use age-appropriate techniques to ensure resident comfort and dignity
  • Follow infection control, PPE, and biohazard safety protocols at all times
  • Properly label, handle, store, and transport specimens according to laboratory guidelines
  • Accurately document all collections in electronic or paper-based systems
  • Communicate effectively with nursing staff, caregivers, and senior living leadership
  • Maintain phlebotomy and specimen collection supplies
  • Ensure timely delivery of specimens to designated drop off points
  • Comply with HIPAA, CLIA, and facility-specific policies
  • Report specimen issues, adverse events, or resident concerns promptly
Qualifications :
  • Superior customer service standards
  • A High School Diploma or GED
  • Completion of an accredited phlebotomy training program
  • Current phlebotomy certification
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Experience :
  • Minimum 1 year of phlebotomy/specimen collection experience preferred
  • Experience in senior living, long-term care, home health, or memory care strongly preferred
Skills & Competencies :
  • Compassionate, patient-centered approach to geriatric care
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently in a mobile environment
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
Physical Requirements :
  • Ability to stand, bend, walk, and assist residents with positioning
  • Ability to lift and carry supplies (up to 25 lbs)
Work Environment :
  • Senior living communities to include Independent Living, Assisted Living, Memory Care

$18.00 - $24.00 per hour
