A Career with a Purpose SunCoast Blood Centers is dedicated to saving lives by providing safe, reliable blood products to our community and we are looking for an exceptional and professional Blood Mobile Driver and Apheresis Phlebotomist. We are committed to exceptional donor care, teamwork, and operational excellence across all mobile and fixed collection environments. The Blood Mobile Driver - Senior Phlebotomist plays a vital role in mobile blood collection operations, supporting bloodmobiles, portable drives, and community donor events. This position is responsible for safely operating mobile units and fleet vehicles while performing apheresis and whole blood collections. The role supports efficient, donor-focused operations by ensuring regulatory compliance, donor safety, and a positive donation experience. This position requires a strong commitment to customer service, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, mobile environment while supporting SunCoast Blood Centers' life-saving mission. Key Responsibilities Mobile Operations & Driving Safely operate bloodmobiles, buses, and fleet vehicles in compliance with all safety and licensing requirements Assist with setup, breakdown, and operation of mobile donor sites Ensure vehicles and mobile units are clean, stocked, fueled, and properly maintained Follow safe driving practices and support the use of spotters when required Blood Collection & Donor Care Perform whole blood and automated (apheresis) collection procedures Monitor donors during and after donation and respond appropriately to adverse reactions Ensure proper storage, handling, and transportation of collected blood products Deliver a professional, compassionate, and donor-centered experience at all times Donor Engagement & Scheduling Reschedule donors at the bedside following donation in accordance with donor eligibility and frequency guidelines Complete outbound calls to eligible donors to support appointment scheduling and donor retention Assist with appointment reminder calls during downtime, following approved scripts and guidelines Quality, Safety & Compliance Complete and verify required drive documentation and checklists Adhere to all SOPs, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements (FDA, AABB, HIPAA, OSHA) Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment Additional Duties Assist with inventory monitoring and supply needs Participate in required training, meetings, and professional development Perform other related duties as assigned to support organizational needs Minimum Qualifications Education High school diploma or equivalent required Experience Minimum of one (1) year of experience in automated blood collections required Licenses & Certifications Valid Florida Driver's License required; must meet insurability standards CDL preferred but not required Phlebotomy certification preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong communication and customer service skills Ability to manage multiple tasks in a mobile, fast-paced environment Proficiency with electronic documentation and data entry systems Strong organizational and problem-solving skills Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations Physical & Environmental Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical tasks for extended periods Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds Manual dexterity required for phlebotomy and equipment operation Work performed in mobile units, donor sites, and outdoor environments Regular exposure to Florida weather conditions Potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens; PPE required
