Experienced Phlebotomist /Medical Assistant (Certification Required)

Phlebotomist with Medical Assistant Training Are you ready for the future of healthcare? Gapin Institute is looking for a full-time Phlebotomist who we will train for additional Medical Assistant responsibilities to help our Sarasota clinic deliver world-class high-performance healthcare. Initial Phlebotomy Functions:

Performing blood draws with precision and patient comfort as top priorities Processing and preparing laboratory specimens Collecting, handling, and processing third-party specimens (e.g., functional tests, cholesterol balance tests, Galleri, etc.) Performing basic laboratory tests Coordinating directly with laboratory vendors for specimen pickup and results Maintaining inventory of phlebotomy supplies Adhering to all safety protocols and procedures Properly labeling and tracking all specimens Maintaining accurate patient records Additional Medical Assistant Functions (In-house Training Provided): Taking medical histories Explaining treatment procedures to patients Preparing patients for examinations Conducting in-office fitness testing (VO2 MAX / RMR) "Rooming" patients for virtual appointments via Zoom Instructing patients about medication and special diets Preparing and administering medications as directed by a physician or other licensed provider Transmitting prescription refills as directed Assisting in minor in-office procedures such as

Vasectomy PRP Gainswave Administrative Functions:

Using computer applications (Google, Slack, Notion) Answering telephones Welcoming patients Updating and filing patient electronic medical records Scheduling appointments Arranging laboratory services Managing and responding to patient emails Handling correspondence and billing Coordinating with third-party vendors for supplies and services

Qualifications:

Phlebotomy certification/experience (Required) Must live within a 30 minute drive of our Sarasota location. Do not apply otherwise. High school diploma or GED required Excellent interpersonal skills Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with patients and other external parties in a courteous and friendly manner at all times Must be detail-oriented and highly organized Firm grasp on medical practices, administrative processes, and organizational policies Must be able to maintain confidentiality at all times Experience with EMR preferred but not required Strong technology skills

$21.00 per hour Expected hours: 40 per week
