1st Shift / 7:00 AM - 1:00 PM (Monday-Friday)

RTB (Hepatitis B offered but may be declined)
Color Vision Screening Required:
Yes They will be drawing, processing, and handling specimens for patients of all ages including pediatric and geriatric populations. We are looking for at least 3 years of phlebotomy experience. • How many draws are required daily 30-40
Position Summary:
The main function of a phlebotomist is to assist in performing various assigned duties, troubleshooting, training, and making workflow recommendations while ensuring high-quality patient care and specimen integrity.
Key Responsibilities:
Experience performing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data, decontamination, and updating patient information. Collect and store specimens according to established procedures. Clearly and courteously explain venipuncture and other specimen collection procedures (urine, fecal, etc.) to patients. Demonstrate proper technique using straight needles and/or butterfly needles. Understand and follow all physician orders accurately. Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes. Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test orders. Verify all test requisitions or computer labels against scripts for 100% accuracy. Package specimens for transport while maintaining integrity and required conditions. Store specimens at appropriate temperatures and in proper containers per protocol. Follow all OSHA and DEP regulations and safety standards. Participate in annual department trainings and ongoing education. Answer telephone calls and provide laboratory-related information as needed.
Qualification & Experience:
High School Diploma or GED Minimum of 6 months of phlebotomy experience required; 3+ years preferred Experience performing venipuncture in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and general computer knowledge Strong patient interaction and communication skills Ability to work in a high-volume environment and stand for extended periods
