As a Phlebotomist, you will be the face of care, drawing quality blood samples from diverse patient populations, including pediatrics and geriatrics, and preparing specimens for laboratory testing. Your expertise will ensure that each collection is performed safely, accurately, and with professionalism, fostering trust and confidence with every patient. Working under the guidance of the area supervisor, you will maintain meticulous records, follow established procedures, and uphold the highest standards of confidentiality and safety. Your role is essential in supporting diagnostic accuracy and contributing to positive health outcomes.
Responsibilities:
Collect venous and capillary blood samples from patients across all age groups, including pediatric and geriatric populations. Prepare specimens correctly for laboratory analysis, ensuring integrity and compliance with established protocols. Create a welcoming and professional environment by explaining procedures clearly and reassuring patients. Follow all safety and infection control guidelines to maintain a clean and safe work environment. Accurately document all sample collections and related patient information. Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure timely processing of specimens. Maintain your certification and stay updated on best practices in phlebotomy. Promote a positive image of the healthcare facility through professionalism and excellent customer service. Adhere to scheduling requirements, including availability on weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
Required Skills:
Minimum of 12 months of direct phlebotomy experience, with proficiency in pediatric and geriatric blood draws. Exceptional venipuncture skills with a focus on safety and patient comfort. Strong customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and empathetically. Accurate data entry and record-keeping capabilities. Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-moving clinical environment. Must possess a valid phlebotomy certification (required in California, Nevada, Washington; preferred elsewhere). High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in a medical assisting, paramedic, or similar healthcare role is a plus. Nice to

Additional certifications such as Medical Assistant or EMT. Experience working in retail or service environments with a focus on customer care. Knowledge of laboratory procedures and specimen handling. Bilingual abilities to serve diverse patient populations.
Preferred Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent. At least 12 months of professional phlebotomy experience. Experience working with a diverse patient demographic. Proficiency with electronic health records and data entry systems.
Other Requirements:
Reliable transportation to and from the worksite; personal vehicle preferred. Rideshare or public transportation are not considered dependable. Availability to work Tuesday through Saturday from 6:00am to 3:30pm, including weekends and holidays. Must be punctual, dependable, and committed to completing entire shifts. Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including specimen collection and setup. Current licensure or certification, as applicable, with ongoing commitment to professional development.
