Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Preferred Qualifications Certification as a phlebotomist Position Summary The primary responsibility of the Phlebotomist is collecting and processing blood samples (e.g., centrifuging in the lab, performing aliquots on-site) as well as proper labeling and adherence to biosafety procedures. Phlebotomist may be asked to collect other physical measurements, such as blood pressure, height, weight, and hip/waist measures. Duties may include recording vital signs and medical histories, preparing patients for examination, and drawing blood. Ensures compliance with applicable policies and regulations. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies Certification as a phlebotomist (e.g., completion of phlebotomy training)
Demonstrated proficiency in successful blood collection, including with difficult veins.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to implement procedures in compliance with research protocols.
Demonstrate basic word processing and data entry skills.
