Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Phlebotomist to join a leading clinical setting known for its commitment to quality care and patient satisfaction. Responsibilities:
Draw blood specimens from patients across all age groups, including pediatric and geriatric populations, using routine and capillary methods. Verify patient demographic information, including patient signatures post-venipuncture, ensuring correct specimen labeling and documentation. Prepare and process specimens for laboratory testing, adhering strictly to established protocols and safety standards. Maintain accurate records of collected specimens, patient interactions, and relevant documentation according to facility policies. Explain procedures to patients clearly to alleviate anxiety and foster a trusting, professional environment. Follow all safety, confidentiality, and infection control guidelines, promoting a safe workplace for patients and staff. Assist with inventory management and equipment maintenance as needed, ensuring supplies are stocked and ready for daily procedures. Support the clinical team with additional duties as required, demonstrating leadership behaviors and process excellence.
Required Skills:
Minimum of three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections. Proficiency in venipuncture techniques with a high level of accuracy and safety. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain procedures clearly and empathetically to patients. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, especially in specimen labeling and recordkeeping. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, managing multiple priorities efficiently. Comfort operating electronic data entry systems and maintaining thorough patient documentation. Demonstrate professionalism, confidentiality, and a commitment to infection control standards. Valid phlebotomy certification preferred but not required; certification may be needed based on state regulations. Nice to

Medical assistant or paramedic training. Prior experience in a Patient Service Center environment. Knowledge of laboratory workflows and specimen processing. Bilingual skills to assist a diverse patient population.
Preferred Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent is required. At least three years of direct phlebotomy experience in clinical or outpatient settings. Experience working with pediatric and geriatric patients. Certification in phlebotomy strongly preferred, especially for roles in California, Nevada, and Washington. Keyboard and data entry proficiency.
Other Requirements:
Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license with a clean driving record, as travel between multiple locations may be required. Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts, to accommodate staffing needs. Ability to work in high-volume environments with a focus on accuracy and efficiency. Ability to stand for extended periods and handle physical aspects of specimen collection. Must display a professional appearance and adhere to dress code policies. Successful completion of necessary background checks and compliance with health and safety protocols. Must list home city and commute time (preferably within 20-25 minutes of the job site) on the application.
