Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Lead Phlebotomist to join our Donor Services team. The ideal candidate will lead mobile drive activities, ensuring donor safety, compliance with FDA standards, and exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and schedule day-to-day activities on mobile drives. Ensure all donors are properly screened and blood components are drawn according to FDA and company SOPs. Collaborate with drive coordinators to ensure efficiency and safety. Assist in achieving monthly production goals. Provide high-level customer service and address external complaints. Maintain updated SOPs, references, and map books. Assist with staff training and in-service programs. Perform collection procedures, including whole blood and apheresis. Administer post-venipuncture care to donors. Address disciplinary issues and notify management as needed. Monitor and participate in QC/Quality Assurance activities. Prepare units, tubes, and records for transport. Perform computer data entry and retrieval. Maintain equipment and ensure cleanliness of work areas. Participate in meetings, seminars, and in-service trainings.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. 3-5 years of related work experience preferred. At least 2 years of leadership/training experience preferred. Basic computer skills. CPR certification and completion of a certified phlebotomy program.
Skills and Abilities:
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to work effectively with a team to achieve goals. Proficiency in problem-solving and decision-making. Knowledge of general safety and quality procedures. Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate integrity. Physical ability to lift 35 pounds and stand, sit, and walk for long periods.
Working Conditions:
Community blood center with adequate light and climate control. Irregular hours, often exceeding 10 hours per day and on weekends. Potential exposure to infectious diseases from blood and blood products. How to
