PRN Phlebotomy Technician I

Details Basic Function:
Performs phlebotomy/specimen collection, and a variety of laboratory tasks related to phlebotomy: labeling specimens, telephone inquiries, and distribution of phlebotomy supplies.
Tasks:
Performs phlebotomy draws Identifies patient per departmental and hospital SOPs Procure/collect specimen using fingerstick and/or various phlebotomy techniques, including vacutainer, syringe and butterfly Refers questions requiring additional knowledge to supervisor Completes redraws Performs computer data entry and other clerical tasks as required Completes phlebotomy related data entry tasks Orders, receives and distributes supplies Receives phlebotomy procurement equipment and/or supplies Inventories and stocks supplies as needed Notifies materials management before shortages occur Maintains phlebotomy tray with appropriate supplies Responds to basic phlebotomy inquiries and otherwise represents assigned and related work areas
Required/Desired Qualifications:
High school graduation or equivalent is required Completion of a phlebotomy training program or previous phlebotomy experience is desirable Minimum 6 months previous experience working in a healthcare setting is desirable Basic computer skills are desirable Previous experience with Personal Protective Equipment is desirable Previous patient contact experience is desirable
Schedule:
24 hours in a 4-week schedule, morning or night shifts, flexible start times and shift lengths Contact
