Job Description

As Interpath Laboratory steadily grows, we are continually looking for dedicated Phlebotomist/Processor candidates to join our team. Ideal candidates will possess excellent people skills, a collaborative spirit, and thrive in a busy setting, supporting both our patients and team goals.
Responsibilities:
Provide excellent customer service, answer phones, and monitor instrumentation alarms. Perform venipuncture for blood collection and obtain additional specimen types as required. Prepare all samples for lab testing and screening to maintain specimen integrity. Verify specimen information, perform data entry, and properly identify patient information. Receive, process, and package samples for referral labs while ensuring compliance with safety protocols, HIPAA policies, and Medicare rules. Cover work shifts at different sites as needed to ensure smooth operations. Maintain consistent, punctual, and reliable attendance.
Required Skills:
High School Diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 1 year of on-the-job phlebotomy experience. Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients and team members. High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to work in a laboratory setting with automated equipment emitting ambient sounds. Ability to hear alarms and respond timely to safety needs. Regular handling of potentially infectious samples with necessary protective gear. Ability to sit, stand, bend, kneel, crawl, twist, and walk on uneven surfaces throughout the day. Frequent bending, extended standing, and lifting up to 30 pounds. Flexibility to work extended hours or overtime as needed.

Exposure to blood, body fluids, and/or tissues; Hepatitis-B vaccination offered.
