  • $21.61 - $34.04 per hour Rush salaries are determined by many factors including, but not limited to, education, job-related experience and skills, as well as internal equity and industry specific market data.   • Supervises the phlebotomy, order entry, and courier operations of the laboratory, including resource and personnel management. The individual who holds this position exemplifies the Rush mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.

  • High school graduate.
  • Interacts effectively with peers, internal and external customers.
  • Preferred Job Qualifications:
  • Four years relevant experience.
  • Phlebotomy certification through a nationally recognized agency.
  • Physical Demands:
  • Works throughout the Medical Center's patient care areas and laboratories.
  • Frequent exposure to potentially infectious diseases and body fluids.
  • Work requires bending, standing, and walking for the majority of the workday.

Has a working knowledge of LIS and EPIC as it relates to inquiry and phlebotomy services and reports. 19. Satisfactorily completes ordinary duties of the job within an acceptable time. 20. Works quickly but safely, concentrates well, and sustains effort level. 21. Monitors and regulates output to ensure needed tasks are completed on time. 22. Meets the work output requirements for this job. 23. Assures prompt dispatch of staff for STAT requests, redraws, and special collections. 24. Assists in preparing work schedules to ensure work assignments are adequately staffed. 25. Communicates well, both orally and in writing, with clarity and good effect. 26. Understands clearly and quickly when communications (such as instructions, orders or complaints) are received. 27. Judges what information is important and what should be communicated, how, to whom, and when. 28. Enhances the laboratory's image by expending extra effort in being positive, friendly, and upbeat when dealing the physicians, nurses, patients, staff, supervisors, visitors, and other employees of the medical center. 29. Demonstrates ability to manage workflow and be a resource person for others. 30. Responds to employee technical and operations questions adequately. 31. Directs employees on action to take when problems or unusual circumstances arise. 32. Maintains technical proficiency in order to accurately perform tasks in areas under their supervision. 33. Accepts special projects and completes them as assigned. 34. Participates willingly or volunteers to participate in special projects or events. 35. Exercises a leadership role in the project or event. 36. Monitors expenses, gathers data, reviews information, writes reports and memos, maintains ordering and inventory, performs employee evaluations, schedules employees, and completes any other project as assigned, in a timely and accurate manner.
