  • 39/hr Travel Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Phlebotomist to support a busy Medical Laboratory Services team.
The ideal candidate will have strong hospital-based phlebotomy experience, excellent patient interaction skills, and the ability to perform specimen collection and laboratory support duties in a fast-paced acute care environment. Responsibilities Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection on patients of all ages. Collect, label, process, centrifuge, and prepare specimens for testing. Perform blood draws, blood cultures, throat swabs, MRSA swabs, urine collections, heel sticks, and finger sticks. Conduct specialized collections and diagnostic testing as required. Ensure specimen integrity and resolve collection or identification issues. Enter patient information and process laboratory orders. Communicate with physicians, nurses, and laboratory staff regarding specimen and order requirements. Maintain laboratory supplies, equipment, and work areas. Transport specimens when required. Requirements Minimum 3 years of recent hospital or acute care phlebotomy experience. Current BLS (BCLS) certification. Strong venipuncture and specimen collection skills across all age groups. Experience with laboratory information systems (LIS) and hospital information systems (HIS). EPIC experience preferred. Strong communication, organizational, and patient care skills. Ability to work PM shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.
