Phlebotomist

out of 5 stars Full-time Phlebotomist Munster location Benefit Package and Sign-on Bonus The Phlebotomist serves as a liaison between the hospital laboratory and the patient by collecting blood specimens, urine and other specimens from both inpatients and outpatients, under general supervision, according to prescribed aseptic technique, for use in clinical and diagnostic laboratory testing. The Phlebotomist is capable of handling problem-solving regarding appropriate specimen collection, handling, delivery of specimens to the main laboratory for analysis, test order and specimen information entry in LIS, and performs incidental clerical, cleaning and supply duties. Duties are performed under the supervision of the Laboratory Supervisor/General Specialist, and Laboratory Site Director.
Education/Experience:
High school graduate or equivalent. Successful completion of accredited Phlebotomy certification program. Registered or eligible with
NPA/NCA/ASPT/AMT/ASCP.
Must pass certification within 1 year of hire. One year of previous experience in phlebotomy preferred. Medical Assistant does not need a phlebotomy certification if part of the curriculum. MA certification must be maintained yearly. Full-time, Nights, 10p-630a (8-hr shifts) or 8pm-6:30am (10-hr shifts)
