Position Summary Phlebotomists are responsible for efficiently and accurately performing blood draws on patients at both stand-alone facilities and residential locations. This role requires strong communication with laboratory personnel, dispatch, and supervisors while ensuring patient safety, sample integrity, and compliance with all procedures and policies. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform venipuncture using standard techniques to collect appropriate blood specimens, ensuring positive patient identification and accurate labeling. Adhere to all Solaris Diagnostics policies, procedures, and protocols. Maintain specimen integrity through proper aseptic technique and handling. Ensure a safe and healthy work environment by following lab safety standards and legal regulations. Uphold HIPAA and patient confidentiality at all times. Deliver excellent patient service, promoting quality care and a positive patient experience. Utilize LIMS to track and document specimens and patient information accurately. Maintain compliance with attendance and dress code policies. Identify and report safety risks and escalate concerns as appropriate. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 1 year phlebotomy experience. At least 1 year of experience working directly with patients. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Preferred Qualifications National Phlebotomy Certification (ASCP, AMT, or PBT preferred). Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Strong hand-eye coordination to accurately identify and handle specimens. Able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) for 3-6 hours daily. Ability to stand and/or sit for extended periods. Work Environment Frequent exposure to biological samples (e.g., blood, urine, other bodily fluids). Work performed in clinical, laboratory, and residential settings.
