High School Diploma or GED preferred. Two (2) years of phlebotomy experience preferred; specimen processing experience preferred. Strong human relations and effective communication skills. Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet time-sensitive requirements. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to interact appropriately with a diverse patient population across all age groups. Valid Louisiana Driver's License, proof of insurance, and clean driving record (required). Knowledge of HIPAA, laboratory safety, and infection-control practices.

What You Will Do:
You will perform mobile phlebotomy services by safely collecting, processing, accessioning, and transporting specimens from assigned locations while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and patient care. Perform venipuncture and skin puncture procedures according to departmental protocols. Verify patient identity using armband and/or verbal confirmation with each collection. Accurately label specimens and ensure timely transport to the laboratory. Accession patient samples into the laboratory information system (LIS). Prepare specimens for testing, including centrifugation when required. Communicate with physicians, nursing staff, and clerical staff regarding test orders. Maintain recollections at or below established quality benchmarks. Collect blood cultures using sterile technique and contamination-prevention standards. Follow PPE, OSHA, and blood-borne pathogen safety requirements. Maintain a clean, safe work environment at all collection sites. Drive to designated locations daily and plan efficient specimen transport routes. Maintain accurate specimen logs for courier transport. Ensure cleanliness and serviceability of phlebotomy equipment. Report equipment repair needs and remove unsafe equipment from service. Greet patients courteously and conduct confidential, professional interviews. Confirm special patient preparation requirements such as fasting. Assist with training, mentoring, and competency assessments as assigned. Adhere to hospital and departmental policies regarding safety, attendance, and scheduling. Perform all other duties as assigned.
