Job Description

Phlebotomist Mass General Brigham Community Physicians United States, Massachusetts, Andover 323 Lowell Street (Show on map) May 14, 2026 The Mass General Brigham Medical Group is a system-led operating entity formed by Mass General Brigham to deliver high quality, low cost, innovative community-based ambulatory care. This stems from Mass General Brigham's unified system strategy to bring health care closer to patients while lowering total health care costs. The Medical Group provides a wide range of offerings, including primary care, specialty care, behavioral and mental health, and urgent care, both digitally as well as at physical locations in Massachusetts, Hampshire, and Maine. The group also offers outpatient surgery and endoscopy, imaging, cardiac testing, and infusion. We share the commitment to delivering a coordinated and comprehensive experience across all locations, ensuring the appropriate level of care is available to every patient across our care delivery sites.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Acquire quality blood samples through various phlebotomy techniques for patients across all age groups.
  • Ensure accurate patient identification, quality specimen labeling, processing, handling, and transportation of specimens.
  • Assist in the recovery of patients experiencing adverse reactions and provide rapid response to medical emergencies in the inpatient setting.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and patient care teams, explaining procedures and addressing patient concerns to ensure a high level of customer happiness.
  • Manage sharps and biohazardous materials following regulatory guidelines to protect the safety of patients and staff.
  • Work fluently with computer programs and systems, and align with HIPAA regulations.
  • Perform other test administration and specimen collection as assigned.

  • Demonstrates proficiency in proper collection methods and proper processing of all specimens, including correct tube selection, volume, and stability requirements.
  • Possesses good written and oral communication skills, the ability to prioritize work, manage time wisely, and adjust to changes in work volumes and projects.
  • Superior customer service skills, with the ability to show empathy and respect for patients' privacy and autonomy.
  • Works independently and collaborates effectively within a team, actively partnering with team members by fostering an inclusive work environment and respecting individuals with diverse backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives.
We are currently hiring a full-time, 40-hour Phlebotomist to work on site at 323 Lowell Street in Andover Monday-Friday 8:30 am and 5:00 pm (with some flexibility)!
