Pay Rates:
  • (Local) : $1240- $1320/week gross
  • W2 (Traveler/Stipend): $36/hr | $1440/week gross OR
  • 1099 (Traveler): $38/hr | $1520/week gross
Job Summary:
Under the general supervision of the Phlebotomy Supervisor, Assistant Supervisor, and Director of Laboratory Services, the Phlebotomist Technician is responsible for collecting blood specimens and ensuring accurate processing and documentation within the laboratory system. This role requires independent work in an off-site setting and expertise in handling patients across all age groups, including pediatric populations.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 3 years of phlebotomy experience required.
  • Phlebotomy certification required.
  • Demonstrated experience with pediatric blood draws .
  • Proficiency with Meditech and/or Mobilab systems required.
  • Prior travel experience preferred.
  • Ability to work independently in off-site settings.
  • Strong attention to detail, communication, and patient care skills.
Responsibilities:
  • Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection on patients of all age groups, including newborns, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients.
  • Prioritize and respond efficiently to STAT requests, ensuring timely specimen collection and communication with lab personnel.
  • Conduct specimen accessioning by verifying patient information, entering lab orders, and labeling specimens according to established protocols.
  • Transport specimens between departments and assist in specimen processing as required.
  • Provide phlebotomy services at off-site locations, including nursing homes, patient residences, and satellite facilities.
  • Support laboratory operations by assisting in understaffed areas, initiating glucose tolerance tests, and handling administrative duties such as answering phones.
