Job Description

Vigilant Healthcare Solutions is seeking experienced Medical Technicians / Phlebotomists for a long-term onsite contract opportunity in Augusta, ME . This role is ideal for skilled phlebotomy professionals who are confident with high-volume specimen collection, inpatient and outpatient draws, emergency collections, and laboratory specimen processing. You will support a respected clinical laboratory team in a patient-focused healthcare environment where accuracy, safety, professionalism, and quality care are top priorities. What You'll Do Perform blood draws for inpatient, outpatient, and Emergency Department patients Complete STAT, ASAP, timed, and routine phlebotomy collections Conduct inpatient ward rounds and patient bedside collections Process specimens and prepare samples for send-out testing Verify patient identity and specimen labeling before collection, testing, or processing Document and help resolve collection, processing, testing, or reporting issues Protect patient information and follow all privacy, safety, and infection-control standards Provide professional, patient-centered service to patients, clinical staff, and laboratory team members What We're Looking For At least 3 years of recent phlebotomy experience Experience with inpatient and outpatient blood draws Strong specimen collection, labeling, processing, and send-out preparation skills Ability to work independently in a fast-paced clinical laboratory setting Strong communication skills and professional bedside manner Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently Current
BLS/ACLS
certification, as applicable Ability to complete required onboarding, health screening, immunization documentation, and annual training requirements Schedule & Coverage Available shifts may include: This is an onsite role with day and evening shift coverage. Weekend, holiday, and occasional overtime coverage may be required based on laboratory needs. No on-call or standby duties are required. Why Join Vigilant Healthcare Solutions?
