Overview:
As a Field Laboratory Representative, you will be essential to the collection and processing of urine specimens for drug testing analysis. This role offers the unique chance to work in a clinical environment dedicated to maintaining high standards of patient safety and specimen integrity. Responsibilities:
Facilitate the collection, processing, and shipping of urine specimens for laboratory analysis Conduct observed and supervised specimen collections, including observed collections requiring visual observation through windows or cameras, and supervised collections where direct supervision is maintained Properly identify patients according to departmental policies before specimen collection Label, document, and prepare specimens accurately for shipment Demonstrate excellent customer service by interacting compassionately with patients, physicians, and clinic staff Communicate effectively with a diverse patient population, adapting to individual needs and concerns Follow all safety and regulatory standards, including OSHA and HIPAA guidelines, during specimen handling and documentation Report low specimen volume, operational issues, or procedural deviations to the supervisor Maintain a neat and organized work environment to ensure a clean and efficient process Assist with general office duties, including supply management and documentation
Required Skills:
Proven track record of delivering exceptional customer service Dependable with a strong sense of reliability and work ethic Excellent computer skills, capable of managing multiple software programs, email, and reports Rapid and accurate data entry skills Clear and confident communication skills, ensuring accurate and credible interactions with patients and staff Nice to
Have Skills:
Experience with medical or clinical specimen collection Familiarity with HIPAA compliance and confidentiality protocols Basic knowledge of OSHA standards in healthcare settings Previous experience working with diverse patient populations
Preferred Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required; healthcare-related certification or training is a plus Previous experience in clinical settings, especially in specimen collection or healthcare support roles, is preferred Experience working with medical software and electronic health records
Other Requirements:
Schedule:
Monday 8:00am-6:30pm, Wednesday 8:00am-5:00pm, Thursday 8:00am-6:30pm—total of approximately 30 hours per week Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs Physical ability to perform frequent walking, bending, kneeling, reaching, and other movement tasks Must adhere to dress code of solid color scrubs and closed-toe shoes This is a temporary, ongoing position with an indefinite assignment duration, offering competitive pay up to $20.00 per hour Take the opportunity to make an impactful difference in patient care and laboratory operations.
