FTE or 56 Hours Biweekly The Phlebotomist is responsible for collecting all patient specimens from clinic patients in accordance with established procedures. Responsible for distributing specimens to appropriate areas within St. Luke's laboratory. Responsible for general clerical duties.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:
Graduated from accredited phlebotomy program.Experience:
Six (6) months of phlebotomy experience.Licensure/Certification/Registration:
Certification as phlebotomist.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Skill in phlebotomy. Knowledge of phlebotomy collection processes, Universal Precautions, generally accepted safety practices. Ability to accurately collect and process lab specimens and maintain sample report identity using patient name and identification number through sample receipt, processing, and reporting. Ability to maintain accurate and complete records and maintain strict confidentiality with regard to patient information. Ability to effectively greet the public, work well with patients and employees and to communicate effectively with all individuals. Ability to follow directions and perform tasks outlined in procedure. Ability to exercise judgment and take responsibility to maintain patient health and safety during specimen collection. Ability to organize work and meet deadlines. Able to write legibly, see, hear, read and speak English. READINGIntermediate:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. WRITING
