Laboratory Assistant and Phlebotomist

JOB DESCRIPTION

This position is responsible for performing phlebotomies and receiving/processing specimens to ensure high quality in the preanalytical phase of laboratory testing.

Work Schedule:

.5 FTE; Monday - Friday, 5am - 9am; Every 4th weekend

Required Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent Some positions, as identified by the Laboratory Manager, will be required to drive to various sites to perform phlebotomy. If required, must have a valid driver's license and meet all criteria required under Lakeview's Automobile Liability Guidelines. Knowledge and skills sufficient to provide technical instructions and communicate and advise other departments on clinical laboratory procedures

Preferred Qualifications:

Completion of health care program (e.g. Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Paramedic, Phlebotomy). Phlebotomy Certification Medical Terminology knowledge Previous phlebotomy experience Typing or keyboarding skills
