Phlebotomist Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Phlebotomist to join our healthcare team. The Phlebotomist will be responsible for drawing blood from patients, collecting specimens, and ensuring the safe and accurate handling of all samples. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform venipuncture to draw blood from patients for medical testing, transfusions, donations, or research. Verify patient identity and accurately label all specimens collected. Follow established protocols and procedures to ensure the safety and comfort of patients during the blood collection process. Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper disposal of hazardous materials and biohazard waste. Prepare specimens for transport to the laboratory, ensuring timely and accurate delivery. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to assist in patient care as needed. Keep accurate records of patient information, test results, and specimen tracking. Adhere to all regulatory requirements, including HIPAA, CLIA, and OSHA guidelines. Participate in ongoing training and education to stay current with industry best practices and advancements. Provide exceptional customer service to patients, addressing any concerns or questions with professionalism and empathy.
