Job Description
Job Summary Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Phlebotomist, where you will play a vital role in patient care by expertly collecting blood samples and specimens for laboratory testing. Your enthusiasm and precision will ensure accurate results, supporting diagnosis and treatment plans. Note:
Must be flexible with scheduling and reside in Henderson or within 30 minutes of Henderson. Must be available to cover varying shift hours that may change weekly, with shifts starting as early as 7:00 AM and ending as late as 8:00 PM, Monday through Sunday. Must also be available to work weekends (Saturday and Sunday) from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Duties Perform venipuncture and skin puncture procedures to collect blood samples from patients of all ages. Ensure proper labeling, handling, and processing of specimens to maintain integrity and accuracy. Follow strict aseptic techniques and laboratory procedures to prevent contamination and ensure safety. Obtain vital signs and assess patient condition prior to specimen collection, providing compassionate patient service. Maintain detailed documentation of collection procedures, patient information, and laboratory records. Assist with specimen processing, storage, and transportation to the laboratory for analysis. Support patient care by explaining procedures, answering questions, and ensuring comfort throughout the process. Skills Proficiency in laboratory procedures, techniques, and specimen collection methods including venipuncture and blood sampling. Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and clinical laboratory practices. Experience with hospital or clinical laboratory environments is highly desirable. Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and empathetically. Ability to follow aseptic techniques rigorously to maintain safety standards. Familiarity with vital signs measurement and basic anatomy concepts related to blood vessels and circulatory system. Demonstrated competence in venipuncture, blood sampling, and specimen handling within a healthcare setting.
