Job Description

Where You'll Work CHI St. Alexius Health Dickinson, part of CommonSpirit Heath, a national nonprofit health system based in Englewood, Colorado. The faith-based system operates in 18 states and includes 103 hospitals. Additional services offered within the system are: long-term care, assisted and residential living communities, community health services organizations, home health agencies, and numerous outpatient facilities. Job Summary and Responsibilities As a Phlebotomist, you will competently collect blood and other patient specimens for diagnostic testing, ensuring comfort and safety.

Every day you will identify patients, explain procedures, proficiently perform venipunctures, and accurately label/prepare specimens for laboratory analysis, adhering to safety protocols.

To be successful, you will demonstrate exceptional technical proficiency, meticulous attention to detail, and excellent interpersonal skills for accurate diagnostics and patient satisfaction. Responsibilities Practices positive patient identification at all times, in all job functions. Practices HumanKindness and courtesy with all patient and co-worker interactions. Establishes and maintains good communication within the department and with other hospital departments. Compliance with isolation and hand sanitization procedures. Follows blood collection procedures, performs venous and capillary punctures on all age groups of inpatient and outpatient populations. Utilizes appropriate collection techniques to obtain quality samples and adheres to appropriate volume requirements. Performs Blood Bank collections. Follows written collection and Blood Bank banding procedures. Demonstrates accuracy and good penmanship. Adheres to specimen requirements. Maintains order and cleanliness of phlebotomy trays, stations and storage rooms. Job Requirements Required High School Graduate General Studies OR GED Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Assocation (AHA) to be obtainted within 90 Days Preferred Three (3) months phlebotomy in an acute care facility or less than one (1) year phlebotomy expereince in acute care facility Certified Phlebotomy Technician from
