PEDIATRIC

Phlebotomist in Edison, NJ, to join its growing team (Full-Time position). This position combines administrative tasks along with Pediatric phlebotomy coverage at our main location. We are looking for someone thorough as well as personable and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. They must be a team player who can strive in a busy but rewarding environment. This is a full time position, including weekends.

Description of Duties:

Pediatric Phlebotomy and Lab

• Identify patients and their personal information using their ID, documents or other means
• Accessioning, requisitioning and processing patient samples
• Determine the right venipuncture method based on patient age, health etc.
• Reassure patients and help them relax
• Find veins that are suitable for puncture
• Draw blood (pediatric, age 0-18), using sterilized needles, vials and other equipment
• Ensure optimal quality and quantity of samples
• Label samples correctly and send or deliver them for testing
• Answer patient questions and provide useful information
• Keep accurate records on fluid specimens and tests
• Prepare samples and aliquots for lab processing, including barcoding and compliance
• Adhere to all relevant health and safety standards while working Admin & Office work
• Provide admin and office coverage.
• Organize mail, bills, faxes and billing paperwork
• Schedule and conduct home draws
• Responsible for inventory management of supplies and facilitating order fulfilment
• Answering calls and providing customer service

Phlebotomy Technician Requirements:

• Must have a Certification in phlebotomy
• 2 or more years of experience in

PEDIATRICS

Phlebotomy (with newborns)

• Proven experience and comfort with pediatric blood collections.
• Knowledge of proper handling techniques and disposal policies.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to calm anxious children.
• The ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Patience and presence of mind.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and good handwriting skills.

Experience:

Must have 2+ years Pediatric Phlebotomist experience (newborns) Full-Time position, 9am-5:30pm Compensation is based on experience Need references for past 4 years
