IMMEDIATE HIRE!
!!! Avantic Medical Lab is looking to hire motivated Phlebotomists for our New Jersey locations to join its growing team (Full-Time, Part-Time, Per-Diem positions). These positions combine administrative tasks along with Phlebotomy coverage at our NJ locations. We are looking for someone thorough as well as personable and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. They must be a team player who can strive in a busy but rewarding environmentDescription of Duties:
Phlebotomy and Lab- Identify patients and their personal information using their ID, documents or other means
- Accessioning, requisitioning and processing patient samples
- Determine the right venipuncture method based on patient age, health etc.
- Reassure patients and help them relax
- Find veins that are suitable for puncture
- Draw blood (pediatric, age 0-18), using sterilized needles, vials and other equipment
- Ensure optimal quality and quantity of samples
- Label samples correctly and send or deliver them for testing
- Answer patient questions and provide useful information
- Keep accurate records on fluid specimens and tests
- Prepare samples and aliquots for lab processing, including barcoding and compliance
- Adhere to all relevant health and safety standards while working Other duties as needed Admin & Office work
- Provide admin and office coverage.
- Organize mail, bills, faxes and billing paperwork
- Schedule and conduct home draws
- Responsible for inventory management of supplies and facilitating order fulfilment
- Answering calls and providing customer service
Phlebotomy Technician Requirements:
- Must have a Certification in phlebotomy
- Proven experience and comfort with blood collections.
- Knowledge of proper handling techniques and disposal policies.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to calm anxious children and adults.
- The ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Patience and presence of mind.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and good handwriting skills.
