Job Title:

Phlebotomy Technician Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Phlebotomy Technician to efficiently manage a high volume of blood draws, primarily serving Hispanic patients, with a strong emphasis on pediatric care. You will play a critical role in maintaining the flow of patients and ensuring a positive experience with your exceptional customer service skills. Responsibilities Perform 20-30+ blood draws daily using straight needles, mainly on pediatric patients. Collect and store specimens according to established procedures. Clearly explain the venipuncture process and other specimen collection methods to patients. Demonstrate techniques using straight needles and/or butterfly needles. Understand and execute all physicians' orders accurately. Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes; label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required. Check test requisitions or computer labels against scripts to ensure 100% accuracy. Package specimens for transport and store sample specimens at required temperatures. Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations. Attend annual department trainings. Answer telephone inquiries and read laboratory results as needed. Essential Skills Phlebotomy and blood draw expertise. Experience with high volume blood draws. Proficiency with straight needles. Experience with both pediatric and geriatric patients. Excellent customer service skills Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Wayne, NJ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $25.00/hr.
