Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Float Phlebotomist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in phlebotomy and be fully comfortable using straight needles. Strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and proficiency with computers are essential. This role involves drawing blood, data entry, and processing samples in a busy patient services center. Responsibilities Greet and register patients as they arrive. Perform 20-40 blood draws per day using straight needles or butterfly needles. Enter and update patient information in the system accurately. Process and label specimens according to established procedures. Collect, store, label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test orders. Document and update records for 30-50 patients daily. Participate in additional tasks such as accessioning through training. Essential Skills Minimum of 2 years of phlebotomy experience. Proficiency in using straight needles. Strong data entry and computer skills. Excellent customer service abilities. Ability to multitask effectively. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with blood draw, venipuncture, and specimen processing. Background in medical assisting (MA) is advantageous. Experience working with geriatric populations. Bilingual abilities are a plus. No specific certifications are required.

High school diploma or GED. Work Environment This position operates within a patient services center located in the Staten Island territory. The phlebotomist will work with a diverse adult population, with schedules available from Wednesday to Saturday or Monday to Thursday, with shifts from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm and every Saturday from 8 am to 12:30 pm. The role offers the opportunity to work for one of the largest diagnostic lab companies in the country, with locations across Staten Island. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Staten Island, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $26.00/hr.
