This role is essential to ensuring a safe, efficient, and compliant on-site laboratory while delivering high-quality care to an underserved patient population. Position Summary The Lab Technician / Phlebotomist is responsible for performing laboratory and phlebotomy services, maintaining laboratory operations, and supporting clinical staff in providing organized, patient-centered care. This individual will play a key role in maintaining a clean, well-stocked, and compliant lab environment. Key Responsibilities Perform phlebotomy services and administer point-of-care tests, including blood draws, urinalysis, strep tests, and other tests as ordered Manage patient flow within the lab, ensuring safe and efficient entry and exit Accurately label specimens and update the electronic medical record (EMR) system Prepare, package, and at the end of each shift Track and maintain accurate daily records of laboratory tests performed Monitor and manage laboratory supply inventory; ensure the lab remains clean, organized, and fully stocked Follow all safety, infection control, and compliance protocols, including proper use of PPE and sanitation procedures Collaborate effectively with volunteer providers, clinical staff, and fellow team members Clean and prepare instruments for autoclave sterilization as necessary Perform other duties as assigned by the Charge Nurse or Clinical Operations Director Reports to the Director of Clinical Operations, with direction from Charge Nurses Qualifications Current Phlebotomy Certification Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Phlebotomist or Lab Technician Proficiency in blood draws for both adult and pediatric patients Strong computer skills and familiarity with EMR systems Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work efficiently and maintain professionalism in a fast-paced environment Commitment to serving medically underserved populations with cultural competence Preferred Previous experience volunteering in a clinical setting Spanish language proficiency helpful If interested, please send a cover letter and resume to the link provided.
