Job Description

🩸 Phlebotomist 🌟 Job Summary We're looking for a skilled and compassionate Phlebotomist to join our laboratory team! In this role, you'll play a vital part in patient care by performing blood draws and specimen collection while ensuring accuracy, safety, and excellent service. You'll also contribute to troubleshooting, training, and workflow improvement initiatives. 🔬 Position Responsibilities Perform venipunctures using straight and butterfly needles Collect blood, urine, fecal, and other specimens as required Clearly and courteously explain specimen collection procedures to patients Label, centrifuge, split, freeze, and store specimens according to test orders Match laboratory requisition forms with specimen tubes to ensure 100% accuracy Verify test requisitions and computer labels against physician scripts Package and prepare specimens for transport while maintaining specimen integrity Store specimens at required temperatures in appropriate containers Accurately label all samples following established protocols Record maintenance data and perform required decontamination procedures Update patient information and documentation as needed Fully understand and follow all physicians' orders Answer incoming phone calls and provide lab results to authorized individuals Comply with OSHA, DEP, and all safety and regulatory requirements Attend annual department training sessions Assist with troubleshooting, training, and workflow improvement recommendations ✅ Minimum Qualifications Valid Phlebotomy Certification for the state of employment (as required) Minimum of 6 months of phlebotomy experience in a fast‑paced lab or hospital setting High School Diploma or GED 0-2 years of relevant experience Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to thrive in a high‑volume environment Apply today! Spots are limited! Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Carrollton, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
