Job Description
Phlebotomist Job Overview We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Phlebotomist to join our growing outpatient team. In this high‑energy role, you'll perform 30-60 blood draws per day while delivering compassionate, high‑quality care to our patients. You'll work alongside a supportive healthcare team in a fast‑paced clinical environment that values accuracy, collaboration, and patient comfort. This position requires standing for most of the shift and offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact every day. Key Responsibilities Perform venipunctures using straight and butterfly needles. Label, centrifuge, split, freeze, and properly store specimens according to established procedures. Match laboratory requisition forms with specimen tubes and verify accuracy against test orders or computer-generated labels. Package specimens for transport while maintaining required temperature conditions. Update and verify patient information accurately. Explain venipuncture procedures clearly and courteously to patients and guardians. Follow physicians' orders precisely and adhere to laboratory protocols. Record maintenance data and decontaminate laboratory equipment as needed. Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations and attend required annual department trainings. Answer incoming telephone calls and provide laboratory results or information as appropriate. Required Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. Minimum 1 + years of phlebotomy experience. Strong knowledge of specimen collection, processing, and handling procedures. Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume clinical environment. Excellent communication and patient interaction skills. Work Environment Large medical center office. Team-based environment. Prolonged standing during shifts. Professional medical attire required. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cedar Park, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $24.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
