Summary:

The Phlebotomist is responsible for collecting blood samples from patients for laboratory testing, transfusions, research, or blood donations. This position requires excellent patient care skills, attention to detail, and the ability to follow safety and infection control procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform venipunctures and capillary punctures to collect blood specimens from patients. Properly label, store, and transport blood samples to the laboratory for testing. Verify patient identity and explain procedures to ensure patient comfort and safety. Maintain accurate records of blood draws and patient information. Follow all safety, sanitation, and infection control protocols. Prepare patients for procedures and monitor them for any adverse reactions. Maintain and clean phlebotomy equipment and work areas. Comply with all healthcare regulations, policies, and procedures.
