Phlebotomist I - Grapevine, TX (Two‑Week Training in Dallas) Job Description The Phlebotomist I plays a key role in supporting specimen collection, processing, and workflow efficiency. This position assists with daily operations, troubleshooting, training, and ensuring high‑quality patient care. This role is open to trainees and individuals with limited experience who are eager to learn and grow in the field.

Grapevine, TX Training:
A 2‑week training program will be completed in Dallas, TX before transitioning to the Grapevine site. Responsibilities Perform venipunctures and accurately label all specimens. Centrifuge specimens and document maintenance activities. Decontaminate work areas and update patient information as needed. Collect, store, and prepare specimens following established procedures. Clearly explain venipuncture and specimen collection processes to patients. Demonstrate proper technique using straight or butterfly needles. Fully understand and follow all physician orders. Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes with 100% accuracy. Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens according to test requirements. Verify test requisitions or computer labels against scripts for accuracy. Package specimens for transport using correct temperature and container guidelines. Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations at all times. Attend annual department training sessions. Answer phone inquiries and read laboratory results when needed. Essential Skills Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state of employment (or willingness to obtain). Minimum 6 months of venipuncture experience preferred, but trainees are welcome . Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Strong communication and patient‑interaction skills. High attention to detail for labeling and processing specimens. Education High School Diploma or GED required Experience 0-2 years of phlebotomy or related experience Experience with blood, urine, and fecal specimen collection is a plus. Work Environment This role operates in a fast‑paced hospital or laboratory setting. You will perform venipunctures, specimen collection, and processing while interacting with patients, nurses, and medical staff. Compliance with OSHA and DEP regulations is required. Professional attire is expected. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Grapevine, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
