Adelphi seeks experienced phlebotomists to support inpatient and outpatient services at a Houston, TX hospital. Candidates will perform routine and specialized specimen collection, processing, and related administrative duties to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant patient care. Quick facts

Outpatient clinic hours:
Mon-Fri, 6:00 AM-5:30
PM Rate:
$26/hr Required qualifications Current Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) certification Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Minimum 2 years phlebotomy experience, with phlebotomy performed within the last 3 years Core responsibilities Perform venipuncture and specimen collection for inpatients and outpatients, drawing approximately 40-80 patients per day (with ~20% difficult-stick cases) Use proper techniques for routine and complex blood draws; ensure adequate specimen volume and correct handling Prepare and assemble phlebotomy supplies and equipment; label specimens at bedside and transport to processing areas Collect other outpatient specimens as required (urine, glucose tolerance testing) Perform basic laboratory support tasks including accessioning, centrifugation, and serum separation Verify patient identity with two approved identifiers and confirm physician orders as needed Access and document information in computer systems; relay results to authorized clinical staff Recognize and respond to emergent patient situations (e.g., CPR, choking) per facility policy Maintain accurate records and protect patient privacy in accordance with HIPAA Perform other duties as assigned Adelphi is committed to high-quality, compliant care and seeks professionals who are reliable, detail-oriented, and patient-focused.
