Full-time benefits Description PeaceHealth Reference Lab in Bellingham, WA is seeking a Supervisor Phlebotomy for a Full Time, 1.00 FTE, Day position. The salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $30.12 - $45.18. The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc. This position will help cover the reference labs in Bellingham, Sedro Woolley and Lynden, Washington. Job Summary The Phlebotomy Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Lab Assistant / Phlebotomy team, ensuring high-quality patient care. This position involves managing a remote team of Lab Assistants / Phlebotomists, including Leads. Performs, monitors, and troubleshoots the more complex needs of the department. Assists with ensuring that departmental goals are achieved, timelines met and service excellence provided in all aspects of work. This position may require travel occasional to all PeaceHealth sites in WA and OR.
What you will do:
Assigns work; plans and manages priorities, provides technical assistance, oversees staff schedules, monitors quality of work, monitors team projects, mentors staff, provides constructive feedback, oversees staff training, ensures quality improvement, provides to leadership feedback on staff performance, and assists with goal setting for the team. Collaborates with staff and/or other department leads/staff on how to improve processes to improve patient care, service, TAT, quality and to reduce cost. Participates in the interview, hiring, and employee performance review processes and plays a leadership role in problem solving for team Supervise phlebotomists in the performance of blood draws and venipuncture procedures. Ensure compliance with all safety and infection control policies and procedures. Train new phlebotomists, monitors competence and provides ongoing professional development opportunities for staff. Manage phlebotomy lab operations including specimen processing and send-outs. Create and implement phlebotomy policies and procedures for the team. Monitor and evaluate phlebotomy team performance and provide feedback and coaching as needed. Address patient and provider complaints, concerns or issues related to phlebotomy services. Ensure timely and accurate documentation of phlebotomy-related information in electronic medical records. Oversees quality control documentation and department training procedures and manuals.

WA State:
Medical Assistant - Phlebotomy license is either required at the time of hire or the application must be submitted within 14 days of hire with the active credential in place within 180 days of hire.
