292294045 Job Description Walla Walla Community College (WWCC) seeks to develop applicant pools for adjunct faculty to teach course offerings throughout the 2025-2026 academic year. WWCC offers opportunities for adjunct faculty to teach courses at all of our campuses: Walla Walla, Clarkston, Washington State Penitentiary, Coyote Ridge Corrections Center, as well as online/remotely. Part-time/temporary adjunct faculty positions offer flexible hours and the opportunity to assist a diverse group of adult students in achieving their educational goals. WWCC offers a wide range of opportunities in extended learning, dual-credit alternative high school, workplace learning, outreach learning, and personal enrichment programs. WWCC accepts applications for adjunct faculty positions on a continuous basis, though it does not necessarily imply that there are immediate openings. Applicants who meet the required minimum qualifications and submit a complete application with all required components will become part of the standing pool which the College will draw on as scheduling needs dictate. Qualified candidates are encouraged to submit materials at any time. Candidates who are qualified to teach multiple disciplines are encouraged to apply to each discipline's adjunct pool postings to ensure their application is considered. The Phlebotomy course prepares the student to perform competently and safely in a clinical setting as a phlebotomy technician. The student learns to collect, handle, transport, and process blood specimens for analysis. Upon successful completion of the course, the student will qualify to apply for WA DOH MA-Phlebotomist (MA-P) certification and will be eligible to sit for the examination for credentialing certification with the American Society of Clinical Pathologists.General Responsibilities:
Vascular Anatomy Medical terminology Clinical Skills for Phlebotomy Specimen Collection/ Handling Laboratory administrative procedures.Essential Responsibilities:
Instruction:
Plan course instruction based on approved Master Course Outlines/Syllabi to ensure course content and objectives are met. Utilizes Universal Design to accommodate the learning styles of a diverse student population, including new technologies related to the profession and coursework. Supervise lab and Clinical experience for students utilizing phlebotomy techniques Evaluate student's performance on a systematic basis, ensuring competency-based goals are met. Prepare and maintain student records related to learning activities. Phlebotomy Techniques Medical terminology related to lab Anatomy and physiology Legal Issues Quality assessment and improvement Infection control Safety/Emergency ProceduresRules & Regulations Advising:
Refer students to appropriate college and community resources. Meet with students by phone or in person outside of class as needed. Competencies Ability to effectively develop coursework that includes demonstrations, lectures, group discussions and activities, individual activities, etc. Understand which teaching methods best serve the student's needs, interests, and ability to learn. Ability to develop accurate standards to measure learning or administer evaluations to determine effectiveness and ensure a high level of comprehension. Ability to build constructive working relationships characterized by a high level of acceptance, cooperation, and mutual respect. Ability to recognize the value of cultural, ethnic, gender and other individual differences in people.Required Qualifications:
Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered at the discretion of the college. For remote work, applicants must reside in either WA, OR, ID, CA, IL, PA, or TX. Hold a current Washington state Phlebotomist License Preferred Qualifications A minimum of one-year experience within the past three years. Current American Heart Association CPR Card required.
